木下家の1日は、遥(河合優実)、妹の祈(根本真陽)そして母・愛子(田中麗奈)による食事の感謝の“祈り”から始まる。教団の教えに反するからと、高校生らしい友との遊びや部活を一切禁じられてきた遥。ある日、同じ教団の信者で同級生の義也とカラオケに繰り出すが、愛子の怒りを買い、やがて学校へ通うことを禁じられてしまう。かつて失敗が多く苦労してきた愛子は、誘惑の多い世界で娘に同じ苦しみを絶対に経験させたくなかった。
家族の中でただ一人信者ではない父・信二(森山未來)は、土日を返上して働いても貧しさから抜け出せず、家族に申し訳ないと感じていた。休みを得られたとある週末、家族みんなで水族館に行く提案をする。やっとかなった、家族のひと時。信二は、愛しい娘たちが「自分が信じる道を生きる」ことを願った。だがそれは、父の最期の愛情となってしまう。遥は父の急死を目の当たりにし、家族よりも神を優先させた母へ怒りをぶつけ、家を飛び出してしまう。一方祈は、孤独になってしまった母を守るため、より強い神への誓いを立てる。
遥が初めて接する、ネオンに包まれた“外”の世界。何をすれば良いか、どこに行けば良いか…混乱する。そして、通りすがりの男に声をかけられる。その男のつながりでキャバクラにて働く道を得た遥は、思いがけず、自分の心に押し込めていたものを噴出させる。それは、神から離れ母と妹を置き去りにしてきた罪の意識であり、遥を強く縛り続けていた。
数年が経ち、祈は変貌を遂げた姉の姿を目撃する。「家から抜け出しても神様が心から居なくならない」と葛藤する遥のつぶやきを聞き、祈は遥の手を包む。姉がようやく吐露できた苦しみに自らの思いを重ね合わせるように。
そして二人は、母のもとへと向かう。子どもたちをお腹に宿した時、その幸せを願ったはずの愛子は、遥と祈を受け入れることができるのか…。

Reality becomes the intertwining and multiplication of different points of view; the intersection between what can be seen and what the eye misses. Like a play of light reflections, Viver Mal is Mal Viver in another dimension. The image is distorted, but at the same time seeks a new definition by relaunching itself into infinity.
