“Old White Man” examines the generational and cultural divide in today’s society through the lens of Heinz Hellmich, a middle-aged family man on the verge of losing his job after a series of communication blunders at work. Desperate to prove he’s not just an “old white man,” he invites his boss and guests to a dinner party, aiming to present his family as modern and “woke.” However, chaos ensues as old grievances resurface, unexpected guests arrive, and the conversation spirals through today’s most sensitive issues.
At 15, he took a life. Three days later, his brother’s life was taken. A documentary visual album, “Songs from the Hole” follows James "JJ'88" Jacobs through a musical opus of Hip-Hop and Soul, inspired by his innermost struggles as both a perpetrator and a victim of violence as he serves a double-life prison sentence. The film interweaves the collective storytelling of its non-fiction participants with imagined representations of memories, dreams and spiritual dialogues set to its protagonist/co-creator’s original music.

Czech actor-turned-director Jiří Mádl has wrapped shooting on his third fiction feature, Waves, which centres on the turbulent period of the Warsaw Pact invasion, a seminal moment in modern Czechoslovak history. The period drama is inspired by real-life correspondents from the Czechoslovak Radio International Bureau during the late 1960s. The film, set against the tumultuous backdrop of the Prague Spring and the 1968 invasion, tells the story of two brothers navigating the challenges of the period. The protagonists are Tomáš and his younger sibling, who find themselves in the midst of the 1968 May Day Parade outside the Czech Radio building, where the film crew has been shooting some scenes. The foreign radio department was known for independent news reporting despite the prevalent censorship. However, the blossoming of the communist regime will soon be abruptly halted by the Warsaw Pact tanks.
